Agility dogs, Working Dogs, Service Dogs, Performance Dogs, Show Dogs, of course everyone’s Pet Dogs…

  • Dogs play hard, work hard, and sometimes pull, break, tear, do things to themselves that require attention
  • Do you know what injuries and illnesses require emergency care?
  • Do you know what to do if you find your dog drinking anti-freeze or eating chocolate?
  • Does your dog require a trip to the emergency room at 2 AM or can it wait until morning?
  • What should you do on your way to the vet?

The answers can be critical to the health of your dog

About Our SpeakerDr. Paul McNamara is a Board Certified veterinary orthopedic surgeon who lives in the Hudson Valley of New York. In 1998, Dr McNamara was asked for basic information about how to care for Ithaca Police Dog Odin in an emergency. From this initial interest, Dr. McNamara’s K-9 first aid course took root.   Since then, Dr. McNamara has developed a particular expertise in recognizing and understanding the conditions working dogs encounter, and in treating the problems these K-9s often experience.  Odin’s fund is supported entirely through donations.  All donations received support the Odin’s fund mission of providing first aid courses and first aid kits to K-9 teams throughout the country.
